reggae mistressTwo stages, 30 bands, over 200 performers gathered together to celebrate worldwide Earth Day movement through live music and information dissemination on how to protect and save our environment by way of sustainable development.  

 

DIMITRI Productions, Quezon City Government, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and the Earth Day Network Philippines, joint forces to deliver the hippest bands in the country convened at Tomas Morato Strip, Quezon City last Friday night (April 20) at 7:30 in the evening.  

 

No boundaries. All bands united that evening regardless of their music genres and idiosyncrasies earth day jamjust to give respect to Mother Nature. Two stages were assembled representing the four elements of nature. Fire-Air Stage along Scout Fernandez has taken over by rock, pop and alternative artists such as Callalily, Chicosci, Giniling Festival, Itchy Worms, Kitchie Nadal, Lou Bonnevie, Noel Cabangon, Orange & Lemons, Paolo Santos, Paramita, Rivermaya, Rocksteddy, Session Road and Up Dharma Down. Earth-Water Stage on the otherhand which was nestled along Scout Lascano dished up talented musicians from jazz, rock, reggae, ska, pop and world music. Roster of highly esteemed artists were Affinity, Brass Munkeys, Brownman Revival, Bayang Barrios, Cynthia Alexander, Juan Pablo Dream, Mon David, Nina, Pinikpikan, Radio Active Sago Project, Reggae Mistress, Brownbeat and the Bloomfields. 

 

The venue was swarmed by music enthusiasts, nature-concerned individuals and organization that caused traffic jam at the nearby roads. Musicians performed in high spirits showing their followers that everyone was there for one main purpose: to honor nature through the power of music. Inserts of short talks about protection of natural environment has been consistent throughout the event advocating the youth to do their part in keeping this place a better place for us and for the future generation.
