An oasis is an isolated area of vegetation in a desert, typically surrounding a spring or similar water source. If you think the oasis is only found in the desert, think again. Here in the Philippines, there is a tropical oasis and it is found in the outskirts of Northern Philippines, particularly in the province of La Union. The oasis I am pertaining to is the Oasis Country Resort.

     From Oasis on the Hill (which was then changed to New Oasis Restaurant) to what it is now, the property is a hotel, which offers elegant room accommodations fit for people from all walks of life. Inside every room, air conditioning units, intercommunication, wall to wall carpet, private hot and cold shower, telephone, individual safety boxes, refrigerator, room service, interconnecting rooms, piped in music and remote controlled CATV are offered at your convenience.       Awarded by the Department of Tourism as AA Class Inland Resort Hotel, and honored as the "Most Healthy Place" in 2002, Oasis has a total of 53 rooms classified into two: Hotel Room–34 well-appointed rooms complete with hot and cold water, mini bar, telephone, piped-in music and cable TV and the Casitas–19 luxuriously-styled Mediterranean cottages with landscaped gardens for a truly tropical ambience.

     Other facilities and recreational areas available in the resort are: first-class convention hall, mini Olympic-sized swimming pool, kiddie pool with slides, spacious patio beside the pool designed to celebrate special events up to 200 people, souvenir shop, KTV Music Box with private rooms, bowling center with billiards, table tennis and darts, private beach with beach house access, casita extension units.

     If you are into food tripping, appetizing dishes are also served here. Just recently, they unleashed the Sushi Platter. Every dish prepared, from sushi to sashimi, exposes the fabled culinary ingenuity of the fantastic Far East.
